Privacy Policy

1. Introduction

Welcome to Nestiva ("we", "our", or "us"). Nestiva is a personal and household management application designed to help you organize belongings, track expenses, manage tasks and shopping lists, and plan calendar events.

We take your privacy extremely seriously. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how it is used, how it is protected, and your rights regarding your personal data when using the Nestiva mobile and web application.

2. Information We Collect

Nestiva collects only the necessary information required to provide multi-device sync and personal management services:

A. Account Information

When you create an account, we collect authentication credentials via Firebase Authentication:

  • Email & Password: Email address and hashed authentication tokens.
  • Third-Party Sign-In: If you sign in via Google Sign-In or Apple Sign-In, we receive basic profile info (email address and account identifier) provided by Apple or Google.

B. User-Generated Content

To provide your personal dashboard, inventory, and expense insights, the data you explicitly input into the app is securely stored in Cloud Firestore associated with your unique account ID:

  • Stuff Inventory Data: Item names, descriptions, categories, status (New, Used, Broken), purchase dates, purchase/current price valuations, currency preferences, and maintenance interval schedules.
  • Expense Logs: Expense amounts, currencies, category tags, timestamps, and notes.
  • Tasks: Task titles, descriptions, status, due times, priorities, assignments, and recurrence settings.
  • Calendar: Event titles, descriptions, start and end times, all-day settings, calendar names and colors, recurrence, and reminder preferences.
  • Shopping: Shopping list names, item titles, categories, order, and purchase status.
  • App Preferences: Selected currency, monthly budget limits, and theme mode.
  • Subscription Status: The App Store provides Nestiva with product and purchase status needed to unlock Plus features. Nestiva does not receive or store your full payment-card details.

C. Device & Technical Information

We do not track your physical location, contacts, or cross-app activities. We do not use third-party advertising trackers or sell advertising IDs.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use your information strictly for the following purposes:

  • To authenticate your identity and provide secure access to your account.
  • To synchronize your inventory, expenses, tasks, calendar events, and shopping lists across your devices in real time.
  • To calculate expense summaries, budget alerts, and maintenance reminders on your personal dashboard.
  • To enforce cloud database security rules ensuring only you can access your personal data.

4. Data Storage & Security

All user data is stored securely using Google Firebase infrastructure (Firebase Authentication & Cloud Firestore). Data in transit is protected using Industry-standard TLS/SSL encryption, and data at rest is encrypted within Google Cloud backend services.

We implement strict Firestore Security Rules requiring authenticated request tokens matching your user UID before any database record can be read, written, or modified.

5. Third-Party Services

Nestiva integrates with trusted cloud infrastructure providers strictly for backend operational functionality:

We do not share, sell, rent, or trade your personal data with any third-party marketing or advertising networks.

6. Account & Data Deletion (App Store Compliance)

You retain full control over your data. In compliance with Apple App Store and Google Play guidelines:

How to Delete Your Data & Account:

  1. Open the Nestiva App.
  2. Navigate to the Settings tab.
  3. Select Account Management and tap Delete Account.
  4. Confirm deletion. Your authentication record and associated database items will be permanently deleted from our servers.

Alternatively, you may request complete account and data deletion by sending an email to contact@nestiva.app with your registered email address.

7. Children's Privacy

Nestiva is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you become aware that a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us so we can promptly delete the information.

8. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Effective Date". We encourage you to review this Privacy Policy periodically.
